Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why Should I Use A Nanny Agency?

Is searching for a nanny online a risk worth taking?

Some risks just aren't worth the worry when it comes to finding the care you can trust for your family. It may well be possible to find someone to work for your family entirely on your own - if you can commit the time to post your job and manage the responses, yes, you can achieve the end means. However, if you prefer to engage a professional agency and avoid the potential blizzard of unsuitable applicants, then you can relax in the knowledge that an agency, like Enfants d'Azur Nanny Agency will do the hard work, give you peace of mind, and find exceptional candidates with the experience and interest who're actively looking for your type of vacancy.

What Nanny Checks do you Carry Out?

We invite all applicants for an in-person or virtual interview with us, during which dig deep into their competencies, qualifications, and experience. We examine original documents to verify their identity, right-to-work / visa requirements, enhanced criminal record certification, any professional registrations, licences, and request detailed information on their references. We look for appropriate skills and experience as well as their levels of application, interest, and personality. Finally, we speak to ex-employers and academic references to confirm their employment history, qualifications & references.

Criminal Record Checks - What is an Enhanced DBS and the French and the Overseas Equivalent Checks?

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) in the UK looks at the complete criminal history of an individual to establish clearance for people working with vulnerable adults and children. It's not compulsory for nannies to have a DBS, but is a standard requirement for the profession.

In France...

Overseas applicants need to have valid certificates of good conduct from the relevant embassies of any country where they've lived for 12 months or more in the 5 years before the date of a job application, while aged 18 or over.

Can I book a Trial Day with my Nanny?

Yes. It's always a good idea for the family and nanny to arrange at least one trial day before committing to an engagement. We can provide more information about the importance during our individual client consultations.
