A great place to visit, especially with kids. The tortoise sanctuary is set in a beautiful, hilly, rural setting. The main purpose is breeding Tortoises and releasing them back into the wild, there are colonies of all types of tortoise, terrapins and turtles, all kept in natural and immaculately clean conditions. There is a tortoise clinic to treat ill and injured tortoises and an area about the prehistoric origins of chelonians. The information (given in French English and German) explains that all tortoises are originally brought in by the public.
